Ages 7-12
Horse Sense camps are hands-on and intentionally different from a traditional horse camp. Campers spend most of their of time on the ground with the horses, learning how to understand horse body language, groom and care for them, lead them through fun challenges, and build confidence through hands-on activities. We believe this slow pace and focus on building relationship impacts campers' lives outside of the barn.
Our programming is grounded in evidence-based, social-emotional learning (SEL) practices that support children's development. They’ll have opportunities to practice speaking up, trying something new, solving problems, working with others, slowing down and paying attention, and trusting themselves—all while having a whole lot of fun.
Groups are kept intentionally small, capped at just 8 participants, with a 2:1 camper-to-adult ratio to provide plenty of individual attention and support. Our experienced facilitators bring professional backgrounds in education and therapeutic settings.
Whether your child has never touched a horse before or already considers themselves a horse expert, activities are designed to meet kids where they are. No horse experience necessary!
Please note, horseback riding will only be offered on the last morning of camp and is weather dependent.

After-School Group for ages 8-12
The school year brings opportunities to learn and grow, but it can also bring uncertainty, changing friendships, bigger expectations, and moments that challenge a child's confidence. Steady Strides is designed to help children continue the school year feeling grounded, capable, and strong.
Through four weekly equine-assisted learning sessions, participants will partner with horses to explore what it means to face challenges with courage, develop a growth mindset, and build confidence.
Horses offer honest, immediate feedback, creating meaningful opportunities for children to practice self-awareness, communication, problem-solving, and emotional regulation in a supportive, hands-on environment.
Each session combines engaging horse activities (mostly ground-based—riding last week only), cooperative games, creative expression, and guided reflection to help children strengthen the social-emotional skills that support success both in and out of the classroom.

Women’s Series, in collaboration with Heartwood Healing
Find upcoming dates HERE.
This biannual, 4-week women’s series invites you to explore the transformative ways that horses and nature can help you reconnect with yourself, others, and the world.
Serenity Sundays is designed to follow the same flow each week, but with different activities and variances of the overall theme. Come for a single meaningful experience, or attend more than one session and see how each week elevates the next.
Everyone is welcome—whether you have horse experience or not! No riding skills or horse knowledge are needed—just a willingness to slow down and engage.
*This series is open to all who identify as women, including trans women and nonbinary folks who feel aligned with a feminine experience. We aim to create a welcoming, affirming space where everyone can show up as their full, authentic selves.
IMPORTANT NOTES
All activities take place entirely on the ground. There is no horseback riding involved. Instead, you’ll be guided in respectful, mindful interactions with our horses, allowing space for insight and connection to emerge through experience rather than discussion alone.
This is a guided, experiential program—not therapy or clinical treatment. While many participants find the experience personally meaningful and restorative, the focus is on learning and personal growth.
